VOLUNTEER @ Hubapalooza 2024

If you have ever been to a bike race you have probably noticed that there a lot of moving pieces all at once.  Hubaplooza is a huge event, and we really need some help to get this thing going!  The rolls we need help with are defined below, and so is the sign up sheet; the role of timer is the heaviest load on this event and we really appreciate anyone that can help fill those spaces first!

Course setup – this will involve a lot of moving around the hill, hammering in rebar, taping the course between poles/trees and putting up signage.

Timer – most of our system is automated, but it does need some human supervision.  This is a very important role. 

Course marshal – keep an eye on things, makes sure that riders make it through the course fine

Registration – help racers get their packets/number plates and get questions to the appropriate staff member.  This position will be running through the entire race, as riders will be picking up packets as late as 30 minutes before they start.

Volunteer schedule – 
We will reach out personally to those who volunteer for course setup to get a schedule setup.  

Friday April 5th – NO FRIDAY MEETING!

Saturday April 6th – 
Medics / timers / course marshal –
Meet at Camp Sekani Dirt Jumps (6707 E Upriver Drive) at 8am, we will guide all finish timers to their post and get everyone else to the top of the hill by 8:30am.  We will run all stages at once, which will help keep time down, last year we were wrapped up with 210 racers by 2pm – some stages will finish sooner.  

Sunday April 7th – Medics / timers / course marshal meet at dirt jumps in Camp Sekani at 8:30 am.  We will get everyone to their locations by 9/9:15 and have a volunteer meeting beforehand.

What we have for each volunteer – 1 Bike Hub water bottle, 1 free tune up from The Bike Hub ($90 value), Bike Hub F*ck Yeah Coffee, 1 Hubapalooza 2024 shirt (design still being finalized), lunch and snacks!
