whats going on for 2021?
For 2020/2021 we have decided to switch up the format of Hub-a-Palooza… We are keeping all the events and all the fun parts, but changing when things happen to lighten the load on event staff and riders. Our goal is to increase the fun, and make sure that the entire event stays on schedule!
Downhill races – still two courses, but everything is happening on one day! Riders will have all day Friday and Saturday to practice these courses, this format should also make it easier for you to participate in all of the races!
Enduro race – 4 stages, two new trails, more fun. We have also trimmed down the categories, we have combined all beginner & sport racers and kept their respective age groups (enduro only, all age groups still exist). Questions? Hit us up! Meal now included with enduro entry!
This new format was put in place in order to give everyone plenty of time to practice all the courses, and to make sure that the enduro race (most time consuming, logistically demanding) goes off without a hitch. In years past it was always difficult to have the enduro and downhill race running at the exact same time.
E-bike e-bike e-bike – You can now race with a motor, 4 categories total (elite and amateur for male and female).
Join us for 2021 at Beacon Hill, it’s going to be awesome!
WHAT is it?
Hub-a-Palooza is a 3 day mountain bike festival that takes place at Beacon Hill (Camp Sekani) in Spokane, WA. Past participants would tell you that it is one of the BEST ways to start off your race season. With events going all day long, a schedule allowing riders to compete in all events if they so choose, you won’t find yourself sitting around for hours waiting for your start time.
This is our 7th Hub-a-Palooza, but our 12th year putting on this event at Beacon Hill. Over the years we have watched this event and the trail system that it operates on, flourish… We are excited to share some new trail developments with you, and show you why people make Beacon Hill a destination for riding nearly year-round.
Don’t forget about our OMNIUM PRIZE! We always have an extra special raffle for racers who compete in both downhill and the enduro event!
events!
Hubapalooza has several events…
Our longest running event is the Double Down Hoe Down – two days of downhill racing on two separate courses! Each days has an awards ceremony and Saturday has a jump jam / high jump competition.
All Gravity Series Enduro #1 – a 4 stage single day enduro race, typically 2000-2200 feet of climbing and a great way to start the season / get into enduro racing.
Dirt Jam / High Jump – there are tons of good jump trails at Camp Sekani and we hold an informal jump jam / high jump on Saturday afternoon after the downhill!

Downhill details -
This is our 14th year putting on the Double Down Hoe Down at Beacon Hill!
The downhill race season is back upon us, and we’ll be kicking it off at Beacon in Spokane, WA again for 2021!
Two downhill races, one day! The courses will be like they have been in the past – running a classic “Saturday” style course for race number one, and a slightly more technical “Sunday” style course for race number two.
Course #1 – under two minutes, plenty of mild obstacles and jumps.
Course #2 – also under two minutes, a faster but more technical course. Bigger obstacles for pro and expert racers.
Both courses will have appropriate go-around/easy out lines for all levels of racer.
Friday – Practice from 12-5pm, late registration/check in from 12-5pm.
Saturday – Practice all day
Sunday – RACE! Start times TBA
Most already know that this is a hike-a-bike event, the climb up is pretty short, and has never been a problem for anyone before. Because of the logistics of the hill we can’t offer shuttles and the event is priced appropriately for being an unshuttled race.
Awards and prize raffle will take place immediately after second race is complete.
enduro details -
For 2021 this will be a single day event with 4 stages for all racers! All racers should expect 2000-2500 feet of climbing, with plenty of time to complete the enduro and still practice for the next days downhill races (see OMNIUM PRIZE).
Friday – Practice all day, and late registration and plate pickup from 12-5
Saturday – Racing, see schedule above
Dirt jump jam, high jump, and awards following enduro race!
Live timing during race is our goal, awards after final racer / downhill is finished whichever comes first.
We use a fly-through finish RFID timing system and live results.
Max # of entries is 180, there will be NO registration on the day of event.
lodging / camping / Parking-
We have a large parking area available to us, but please remember that there will be several hundred attendees at this event, so please be respectful.
On-site camping is available, but limited in space and on a first come first served basis. Please keep camping to outer edge of parking area and park near other campers, don’t spread out unless absolutely necessary.
